The suburb of Rockbank is situated within the north western suburbs of Melbourne, some 28km from the Central Business District (CBD). The site is located in the City of Melton Local Government Area (LGA) which is part of the Melbourne West Growth Corridor Plan. Overall, the Melbourne West Growth Corridor is anticipated to grow by between 377,000 – 479 000 persons as well as having capacity for 164,000 – 202,000 jobs ultimately.
The Melbourne West Growth Corridor is the most substantial area of growth in Melbourne and forms part of the State Government’s strategy to manage the population and economic growth of the Melbourne West Region. The land between Caroline Springs and the Melton township is of greatest relevance to the future Rockbank Town Centre.
